This is a very ancient form of healing that is believed to have started in Tibet . A Japanese man called Mikao Usui revived it in the latter part of the 19th Century and it was eventually brought to the West. Traditionally it is mainly used to help people on all levels; physically, mentally and emotionally.  

Reiki taps into the body’s own healing mechanism helping to regain its natural state of balance. Any illness or long-term condition is suitable to be treated with Reiki because there is no manipulation or massage involved. Similarly, it is suitable for use by people of any age from the tiniest baby to the frailest elderly person.

Many sensations may be felt while receiving Reiki but the overriding one is that of deep relaxation.

Animals respond very well to Reiki and can be treated for a wide range of physical and behavioural problems, particularly when they stem from past abuse.

Reiki is also now being used within the NHS as part of the package of clinical care offered to patients.
